Dr. Kim’s primary research interest has been pursuing Evidence Based Health Policy Analysis & Policy Development, Disparity on Health Services Utilization & Outcomes, and Efficient National Healthcare Costs & Utilization using large scale administrative dataset in S. Korea. Dr. Kim also has been an (Principal) Investigator for various funded research projects by National Research Fund, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Health Insurance Review & Assessment Services, Health Industry Development Institute, and National Cancer Center, etc in Korea. In the academic sphere, he is a prominent figure in health services research. He currently serves as the Section Editor (Health Services Research) for Archives of Public Health and is an Editorial Board Member of Research in Health Services and Regions. His expertise is further recognized through his board memberships at the Korean Academy of Health Policy and Management and the Korean Society of Hospital Management, as well as his role as an Expert Advisor for the National Assembly Research Group for the Advancement of Health and Visiting Research Fellow Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA). Beyond academia, he brings extensive industry experience. He previously served as a Project Manager at Seoul National University Hospital, where he spearheaded global hospital expansion and ODA/EDCF projects. Additionally, as a Manager at Samsung Medison, he focused on strategic planning and business development, overseeing global M&A evaluations, business valuations, and deal sourcing. Throughout his tenure at Soonchunhyang University, Dr. Kim has held several key leadership roles, reflecting his commitment to institutional growth and internationalization. These include serving as Vice Dean of the Office of Global Education & Exchange, Directors of Center for Foreign Language Education, International Student Support Center, Multicultural and Foreign Residents Support Center, Center for Healthcare Management Science Research, Center for Graduate Schools Innovation, Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Health Sciences, and Department Chair.
