He is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Auckland. He currently sits on the International Federation of Emergency Medicine (IFEM) Research Committee, chairs the Emergency Medicine Network for research and clinical lead for acute care for Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora. He has a wide range of research interests including Emergency Department crowding, equity and health systems.
