Dr. Hatfield is a biostatistician and health policy researcher whose work combines advanced analytical methods with big data to answer policy-relevant questions. She has special expertise in quantifying variation and causal inference. In addition to her methodological innovations, Dr. Hatfield has contributed significantly to health policy and health services research, from price transparency and bundled payments to hospitalist models and oncology care. Dr. Hatfield earned her BS in genetics from Iowa State University and her MS and PhD in biostatistics from the University of Minnesota.
